It was designed as a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun, and was fitted with a turret to mount a 50mm gun on a Tiger I tank chassis. The vehicle used pneumatic suspension for improved terrain traversal and featured the ability to traverse slopes of up to 30 degrees. With its powerful 50mm gun, the vehicle was capable of engaging and destroying enemy aircraft at ranges of up to 5,000 meters. It eventually saw service with the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS forces in Europe until replaced by more modern designs in 1945.
