Operating from its homeport of Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, the squadrons mission is to conduct prompt, sustained combat operations at sea as part of a global force for good. Along with the aircraft carrier, CSG-3 also consists of guided-missile cruisers and destroyers, submarines, and an array of aircraft that conduct operations in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, including the Hawaiian Islands.
