George Parry of the 105 Squadron of the Royal Air Force flew in a De Havilland Mosquito B.iv in 1942. A multi-role aircraft of incredible design, it was known as the ‘Wooden Wonder’ for its use of wood in the construction. On special occasions, George would wear a Hawaiian shirt under his flight suit to commemorate his beloved wife, who had been taken prisoner in one of the Japanese-occupied Pacific islands.
