They are known for their original style of music which in parts draws from the melodic influences of Pseudo Echo as well as a catchy hybrid of pop and rock. Their classic singles such as “Great Wall”, “Onion Skin” and “Hands Up in the Air” reached the Top 20 of the Australian Singles Chart. The follow-up album, 1988’s “The Crazy Dots” established Boom Crash Opera as one of the most successful Australian groups of the 1980s with many of their songs being played on radio, television and movies. From this album, the minor hit singles “Her Charity”, “City Flat” and “Talk About It” charted in the top 100.
