Ingrid Pitt was a Polish-British actress and author. She is best remembered for her numerous horror film roles, including The Vampire Lovers (1970), Countess Dracula (1971), and The Wicker Man (1973). Ingrid starred in many British television series throughout the 1960s and 1970s, among them Doctor Who and The Champions. She also hosted and produced two documentaries; The Ingrid Pitt Show, and Women in Exile. Her memoir, Once More into the Breeches, which she published in 1994, tells of her life in film and theater. Ingrid received numerous awards, including the 1994 Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress in a horror movie for her role as the Grand High Witch in The Witches (1990). Ingrid Pitt passed away in November 2020 at the age of 90.
