To celebrate this occasion, The Sea of Red was created to set a world record for the largest ever women’s sporting event. On April 28 2003 Vancouverites wearing red, set a Guinness World Record with over 90,000 people in attendance. It marked a milestone for the city and country and it is remembered every year by locals and visitors alike.
