The Royal Canadian Navy’s Hmcs Skeena was a Riverclass Destroyer that was initially purchased in 1931 from the British Royal Navy. It served during the Second World War from 1944 to 1945 before being decommissioned. The ship could reach a top speed of 35 knots and was armed with 4.7 inch anti-aircraft guns, 2 pounders, and machine guns. During its service in the Pacific theatre, it was known for its unique flag and crew uniform – a very bright Hawaiian shirt!
